About
I'm Xuenan.
(she/her/hers) — born and raised in Jilin, China, now in the Bay Area working as a Data Scientist, writing travel notes here.
Monday through Friday I'm at a screen. Weekends, I'm somewhere outside — forest, hot spring, snorkel trip, deer cabin, whatever pulls me out of the chair.
This site is where the travel notes live. What to eat, where to stay, how to get there, whether I'd go back.
The name comes from my nickname 树叶 — which means "leaves" — and from what the site does: leaves notes behind, one trip at a time.
A few things I believe
- In an AI-saturated world, the most precious thing is connection to the actual one. Most of why this site exists. Most of why I keep traveling.
- Animals are the cutest things on the planet. I have a cat named Xiaohei (小黑, "Little Black"):
- Weekends are for playing hard outdoors. Recharging isn't a luxury.
